Top 10 Questions heading into the Off Season

I was part of the original Hoops Madness back in the day but I came into that one with someone else's Chicago Bulls team. It was a great league but simming a league is a lot of work (I couldn't handle it) and that HM fizzled. So when Ed took over and decided to get this thing started again as a fantasy draft I figured I'd try something new. This is my comparison between the 2 types of FBB leagues I've done: Fantasy vs Real.

Most are gunning for this immediately in a fantasy draft

Re-Building vs Winning Now
I think one of the major positives of a fantasy draft is everyone pretty much has to try to win now with the contract structure. With 1st round picks getting 4 year deals and 2nd and 3rd picks getting 3 year deals, you really have to pick high potential players or established stars because these guys most likely are here for the long term.
With real rosters, you're able to go either way which is also a welcome choice. You don't get bird years for anyone starting with a contract shorter than 3 years so you have to figure out whether to extend their contracts for large amounts of sim cash or dump players so you can get great picks early on in the league. It's "easier" to win in the beginning of these types of leagues because there are large amounts of salary dumps and a lot of mediocre teams and few strong elite to start.

Trade your expiring stars or watch them walk for nothing

Free Agency
This is going to be one of the leagues weaker points in the first 3 to 4 seasons. Just about every team carries over $13 million in cap room season to season but no major players contracts are expiring. It ought to be interesting to see how the Michael Jordan sweepstakes goes; whether or not he's going to be given 14 bird years so his max is higher than most can afford or it's the rookie level MAX so it's a 29 team lottery.

The Pistons turn it up when they had to. Lead by Eddie King, the Pistons swept the Utah Jazz in the Western Conference finals and also swept the Knicks in the finals to take their 4th championship in llast 7 seasons.
During the Lakers-Celtics series, Bill Walker of the Lakers averaged 7 turnovers a game. The Celtics won the series in 5 including a 60 point win over the Lakers.
Eddie King has been on phenomenal this month. He lead the Pistons to the their 4th championship in last 7 seasons. He averaged 26 PPG, 10.9 APG, 4RPG and only 1.8 TOPG which is remarkable.
